Part-Time Cashier/Deli Clerk
General Purpose and Scope of Position:
This position ensures excellent service and overall customer satisfaction to the Retail and Deli Department within our company. They are a key team member of our fun, growing team! This position will provide excellent service and overall customer satisfaction.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with customers, suppliers and team members to achieve customer service goals
- Knowledge of point of sale software – Not Required!
- Knowledge of Food safety and Food Preparation – Not Required!
- Exceptional customer service skills
Key Personal Attributes Include:
- Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills for interaction with customers and fellow employees
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
- Ability to respond professionally to common inquiries or complaints from other employees and customers, always greeting and saying thank you to our customers
- Reads, writes and speaks the English language fluently
- Practical organization skills with strong attention to detail along with ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments
Specific Responsibilities for C-Store Clerk:
- Compute daily checkout when working
- Help with training new Retail employees.
- Help cover shifts when needed.
- Perform routine cleaning and stocking within the C-Store.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and team orientated work environment.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Specific Responsibilities for Deli Clerk:
- Prepare, package and serve deli items on a daily basis.
- Follow food safety guidelines – such as proper handwashing, storing products and knowing expiration dates.
- Help with training new Deli employees.
- Help cover shifts when needed.
- Work and communicate in a professional manor with Deli Supervisor on a daily basis.
- Help keep displays of food clean and well stocked for customers to purchase.
- Operate and create a food item barcode that is able to be scanned at the cash register.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and team orientated work environment.
- Clean and keep the kitchen looking presentable at all times.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Full-Time Deli Clerk (Afternoon/Evening Shift)
General Purpose and Scope of Position:
This position provides excellent service and overall customer satisfaction. They are a key team member to the team to help things run smoothly within the Deli (Kitchen) Department of LQP Coop Oil Company Convenience Store. This position is Full-Time and will hold the responsibility of being a relied-on member of the team at the Dawson location.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with customers, suppliers and team members to achieve customer service goals
- Knowledge of point of sale software – Not Required!
- Knowledge of Food safety and Food Preparation – Not Required!
- Exceptional customer service skills

Specific Responsibilities for Deli Clerk:
- Greet customers and assist with orders to ensure that all customers are getting the correct food order that meets our satisfaction as a company.
- Answer all questions about products, food ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Maintain proper portion sizes for accurate pricing.
- Restock inventory and refill products for the following shifts, making sure that all ingredients are there for successful food preparation.
- Help rotate inventory following the rule of “First in, first out”
- Receive and inspect all store incoming deliveries – Help put away into the proper designated areas.
- Work closely with other staff and departments.
- Help provide feedback and suggestions to Deli Supervisor and C-Store Manager so the kitchen department creates a positive atmosphere for employees to work in.
- Help provide leadership in the evenings & weekends for minors and other part-time deli staff to maintain sanitization & safe food practices, safe work environment, consistency in products, organization, and productivity in getting all shift assigned duties completed as a team.
- Complete the assigned shift task lists during each shift.
- Check daily temperatures and record on appropriate charts.
- Communicate with the Deli Supervisor on the schedule and help work open shifts when needed.
- Maintain flyers including cleaning & changing oil as scheduled.
- Clean Kitchen items, utensils, pans, appliances, counters, and floors making sure they are looking presentable and are sanitized properly during and after each shift.
- All other duties assigned.
